Caribbean villa rentals provide an opportunity to enjoy a vacation with many of the services and amenities that you expect to receive at a resort, plus the privacy and comforts of home that are not always readily available at resorts.
Renting a Caribbean villa has become an increasingly popular choice for vacationers in recent years. Villa rental companies now offer everything from “traditional” Caribbean cottages to ultra-luxury private beachfront residences. With so many islands and properties to choose from, it’s useful to create a list of priorities before you embark on a search for vacation villa rentals. Here are some suggestions to help make that exercise easier.
After selecting the island on which you want to vacation, give some consideration to the type of neighbourhood you want to stay in. For instance, is close proximity to the airport important? Are you looking for privacy, or do you want to be within walking distance of restaurants and grocery stores? Beachfront villas are usually more expensive to rent – how important is it to be located directly on the beach instead of perhaps a five-minute walk or drive away?
Some villa rental companies offer housekeeping and cooking staff, whereas other villas appeal to the DIY crowd. If you like to barbecue and dine out, a limited service villa may be your best choice, whereas if your goal is to spend the majority of your vacation time at the villa, consider a rental that offers housekeeping and chef services.
Consider how you want to spend your days at the villa. If activities during the day and evening entertainment are important to you, a secluded beach villa may not be the best choice. Villas do not always come equipped with water sports equipment, the latest in consumer electronics, or even easy access to nearby amenities such as spas, restaurants or retails stores. Spend some time researching what is available at the villa, and what the property management company can arrange to help keep your family and friends entertained.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Not all villas come equipped with security services or systems. Privacy is delightful on vacation but it also comes with some risks. Ask what security measures are in place at the villa and give consideration to the area in which the villa is located.
No matter what type of Caribbean villa rental property that you end up selecting, you will surely enjoy the fabulous weather and turquoise waters that have made the region famous. The mere mention of turquoise water in recent years has prompted many people to think of Turks and Caicos Islands. Rated one of the top island destinations in the world, the sun-drenched Caribbean nation is home to many stunning, luxury Caribbean villas for rent.
The Shore Club Turks and Caicos will soon be adding six new beachfront villas to the inventory of stunning properties for rent on Providenciales. The villas are part of a nine-acre development on 2.5 mile Long Bay beach that will include 38 condos in two low-rise buildings, spanning 820 feet of beachfront.
The six bedroom villas will each have a private courtyard with swimming pool, large entertainment rooms, elevators and even a service entry from an underground tunnel. The villas offer the best of both worlds – the privacy of a luxury villa and yet the convenience of being part of a larger resort community that will feature three swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants, retail outlets, a spa and wellness center and a services beach area with watersports. Villa rentals will be professionally managed by the Shore Club resort management team in a secure resort community. Private chef and butler services will be one of many bespoke services available upon request.
The $100 million Shore Club project is under construction and will open in 2016. For more information visit www.theshoreclubtc.com.
